Keeping Up With the Jones'
Senior Forward Alfred Jones (pictured left) spent his summer with the Sangamon County Sheriff's Office in Springfield, Illinois. This internship fulfilled his requirement set forth by the Tennessee Tech Criminal Justice Program. Jones spent 16 hours per week for nine weeks. His duties involved transporting inmates to and from their housing units to the court rooms. He provided security in the court room, while also serving subpoenas and warrants. During his time he managed to arrest one person, hand out one ticket, and issue a warning for speeding. Jones was also able to spend some time working with the U.S. Marshals in Illinois. Alfred Jones will graduate this spring and plans to pursue a career in criminal justice.
