TTU HOOPS: From high school in Ohio to junior college in Illinois, how did you end up at Tennessee Tech?

ELIJAH MUHAMMAD: I came on my visit and fell in love with the atmosphere. The coaches made me feel like I was already part of the family. I fit right in with the players and they welcomed me with open arms!

TTU HOOPS: What was the toughest transition from junior college to D1 basketball?

ELIJAH MUHAMMAD: The players are bigger overall and the competition is more consistent. In junior college all you need is a strong team. At the D1 level there are so many other factors that affect a team's performance.

TTU HOOPS: How do you balance basketball and academics and still make time for a social life?

ELIJAH MUHAMMAD: I keep a daily planner and write down every task I need to complete that day. Time management is the key to success in college!

TTU HOOPS: What leadership role will you have with this year's team?

ELIJAH MUHAMMAD: I want to make sure our team is well represented off the court. I try hard to communicate well with the coaching staff and other teammates. Every team needs a vocal leader and one to lead by example. I'm going to make a conscious effort to be that for us!
